2011
The fishing in 2011
was great. During January and into the first 2 weeks of
February the fishing was non stop action all day. There
were sails on bait balls in every direction. The last two
weeks of February the fishing became a little more hit or miss.
We had some great days in the mid to upper teens and we also had
a few slower days in the 5 to 8 fish range. Our last few
trips we decided to give it a shot at some meat fishing.
We had great success catching 8-10 nice black fin tuna and 1-3
wahoo in the morning and then spent the afternoon finishing
things off with a variety of bottom fish. The first of
March we started to pack up for home. A few days into our trip
back we heard that the sailfishing started to pick back up.
The catches were back up into the 30 to 40 fish a day average.
We had a great year and can't wait to get back down.
You don't want to miss out on a chance to
fish out of Isla Mujeres, a small island off the east coast of
Mexico. Isla Mujeres is just a 30 minute ferry ride from
Cancun and is known as "a sail fishing paradise". Sailfish
are caught by the dozens on a normal day,
it is hands down one of the best places in the world to learn
how to hook your own billfish. The island is a
fun place to be with reasonable accommodations, great food, and
a friendly laid-back atmosphere. We will be running
charters from early January through mid-March of 2010. Our
staff and crew will assist you in planning your next tropical
vacation in Mexico today.
